What were you grateful for this week?Seeing my host family.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Traveling to Paris (early flights and such).

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I taught them some new games and they loved it!

Tell us about your week! I realized really how hard it will be to say goodbye to my host family this week, my friend had a trip planned to Paris and so we left a couple days before the week was done. It was so hard saying good bye even for the weekend! I have no idea how I will do it long term.

The 11 year old in my family and I have become best friends. We tease each other, play games, we have inside jokes and secrets. It’s really fun, I have two younger brothers at home and so it is fun to have a couple more. This week, the 11 year old did not want to do his English homework at all.. so that was a bit challenging. Eventually we got it done, but it took some serious persuading. The 18 year old likes to be around as well and we just hang out and chat, we went to a BBQ at the neighbors house and it was so fun! We laughed, I ate till I nearly puked, and just had a good time. It was wonderful.

After that my friend and I went to Paris! Oh my gosh, how incredible that place is. We went to Versailles, the Opera, Nôtre Dame, and ended with the Eiffel Tower. One of the best moments though was at Versailles where we met this lovely Australian couple in line and then we just spent the day together. We became good friends and hopefully I can plan a trip to Australia to see them again.
