What were you grateful for this week?My cousin Aysia.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Figuring out the train schedule and my way around the city.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.My host family had a very busy week, mom was out of town for the first few days so I had to do some extra work to get the girls off to school and settled down for the night!

Tell us about your week! This week was a little crazy with my host mom being gone. I was able to spend extra time getting to know my girls and they were able to get more comfortable with me, which is really exciting! The oldest likes me to explain why things work, which is no problem. The youngest will do anything her older sister does but it’s normally no problem!

I get to visit the city every time I pick up the youngest so I’ll normally eat out or get coffee at a new cafe every time! Getting used to the trains for pick up days have gotten a lot easier. At first I was so turned around and worried I couldn’t make trains on time, but the locals are so kind and willing to help.

Thursday I got done with watching the girl a little early and was able to go into the city to watch some live bands play, which rocked! Friday was a relaxed day where I picked the youngest up from daycare early to spend some time with just her, she is so bright and always smiling.

I took the train to the Gold Coast on Saturday morning because I have a cousin that’s living at a hostel there. She introduced me to so many new people, and I saw so many new things, not to mention how delicious all of the food was. We did shop until we dropped at the largest mall in Queensland, no regrets there! I’ve yet to see a kangaroo or koala bear but there’s a sanctuary in Brisbane that I’m dying to visit!
