What were you grateful for this week?My Italian Family.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Walking 12 Kilometers in Rome.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I helped my host mom make 6 pizzas, it was a wow moment for me too.
Tell us about your week! This week has been really great. It’s often hard for me to find a wow moment because my family is so loving and welcoming that I have a hard time knowing where they need me! I love it though and I try to help where I can. We cooked together a lot this week, me and my host mom. It was really great and cool to learn so many Italian recipes.
This week it was the mid summer party, and so the kids came and stayed overnight for the party and everyone was really happy. My 14 year old girl is convinced that summer will not be the same after the party. Oh to be a teenager!
The weekend came quick and K and I went to Florence and Rome. We met up with S [another Rome Abroad Traveler] in Florence while K’s 18 year old showed us around the city. It was great.
Rome was gorgeous too and in total for those two days we walked over 24 Kilometers. It was crazy and my feet are still killing me, but what an amazing adventure, hearing the Pope speak, seeing all the monuments, and eating ton of gelato.
I was so happy to be involved in all of it and really taken away by Italy over and over again. Coming back home was very good though, I love to be here on the hill with my little family. It’s so fun when we are all together laughing at each other about anything.
