What were you grateful for this week?Opportunity to explore history.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The sunburn.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. They do so much for me that it is hard to do something so great for them. I took the 11 year old to go see Antman and Wasp, all his friends came and it was a good time.
Tell us about your week! My natural color is now red, but even thought I continually get sunburnt I am still much more white than everyone here.
This week was really wonderful, I got to know my family a lot more and it was awesome. They have two boys, and the youngest is adopted, so I asked them about why they chose to adopt. It was a beautiful story, these people have so much love in their beings it’s insane. They just radiate acceptance and love. After they told me the story, they then told me they had always wished for a daughter and so I am like a daughter to them and they are happy to have me here. This was the moment that changed everything, I felt truly happy. Not that I hadn’t felt happy before this, but authentic, soul filling happy is what I felt. I really love them, and as I get closer to them it will be even harder to leave.
This week my friend and I decided to save our money and explore where we live. Her host mom works at a couple archeological sites and so we were able to go into an old mine, hike up to some medieval ruins, and walk through some acient burial grounds. It really was a special experience! I absolutely loved it! I also finally made the full plunge into the Mediterranean Sea. It was beautiful and so incredibly salty. Really, this was one of my favorite weeks yet.
