What were you grateful for this week?My host family, Tuscany, and seeing the sea out the train window.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Honestly figuring out where to go with teaching, I know my kids are smart, but with them being older its challenging to figure out teaching while still being entertaining. My brain is totally worn out by lunch time so far!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.Helping my host mom get ready for [my host family’s daughter’s] surprise 14th birthday party! It was really fun to see how excited she was.
Tell us about your week! This week was crazy! I kind of mentioned above that I am struggling to figure out what to teach, and how to teach it with my two teenagers and my one 10 year old who wants to be a teenager! They are all wonderful and patient with me, I think it’s because they can’t understand me mostly, but its still fun once we get rolling on something.
We had a surprise party for [my host family’s daughter’s] 14th birthday, it was really fun because all of her friends got to come over and they all wanted to talk to me in English. It was cute to see what words they knew and even cuter when they asked me what different ones meant.
I got a bike this week! I am not sure if it ever made it to my actual house or if it is still at K’s, but I love it. It’s got squeaky breaks and the whole Italian feel. I got to ride it to K’s and we went with her oldest boy and his friends to get gelato at the Marina this week. It was a very good time for sure.
We spent the weekend in Cinque Terre with T, A6, and A3 and it was a total blast. Those girls are amazing and I really loved being able to connect with different girls and really hear the perspective of girls who have been doing it for a while longer than I have. Love having people to reach out to here! Till next time, ciao!
