What were you grateful for this week?THE FOOD! This week has been a week for food. I have tried so many delicious treats. From my first Italian spaghetti, to my first Napoli margarita pizza.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Blisters???? I keep getting blisters from all the walking I’m doing. No complaints but my poor feet.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week we went I the sea. I had a chance to build sandcastles with the little girl. We also found a water bottle and collected seashells.
Tell us about your week! This week has been filled with things. During the week, I got to play games and go to the beach with my host family. I also was able to meet up with a few other girls to go inside the Colosseum, and Roman Forum. We dressed up and went out to dinner Friday night. We found some delicious dessert places and cute little toy stores.
This weekend was a dream. I took a tour down to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, and Capri. It was amazing. Pompeii was beyond neat. To see the city that was preserved under meter of ash from the volcano that erupted in 79 A.D.
In Sorrento I got to wander the beautiful streets and have and amazing dinner in the coast as the sunset. I had the volcano in front of me, the sun setting, and the beautiful coast line all while being fed amazing cheeses, pasta, and dessert!
However the island of Capri stole the show for me. I took a ferry out to the island and went to the Blue Grotto, took a lift to the highest point, tried lemon chocolate, and I got to wander the beautiful gardens in the city and see amazing views! The tour group normally had about 40 people in it, but there were only 3 of us so we basically had a private tour so that was pretty fancy! (sorry to the sweet canadian couple who I crashed their romantic private tour????)
It was an amazing week and I can’t wait to see what comes this next week!
