What were you grateful for this week?Well-cooked food.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Figuring out a sleep schedule for myself.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Giving them gifts from Utah.

Tell us about your week! When I first arrived the kids were spending the weekend with their father so I had a few days to acclimate and rest. I enjoyed meeting the host family and having a tour of the city. I went on a bike ride with the host Mom while the kids were at a play date, we took her dogs to the river and watched them swim and get dirty. I also joined the host mother for a dog walking tour along the beach and the lagoon. The beach in Lignano has free WiFi.

Having so many dogs in the house was daunting at first but the host mother is an accomplished dog trainer and her dogs are amazing — well-behaved and fun to watch while the young run through an agility course in her back yard.

We have attended family bbqs this weekend and went out to dinner for traditional food in the country side. It will be interesting to make the family a ‘typical American meal’ the kids will eat anything, but we shall see.

I am learning some italian and I enjoy finding the connections to some Spanish words. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I am excited to spend more time on the beach, make some friends, improve my Italian and teach the children English.
