What were you grateful for this week?I am grateful for Air Conditioning!
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The most difficult part of my week was navigating around Rome by myself during my first week here.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. My wow moment was when my family and I went to Monte Argentario; a seaside town in Tuscany, and swam in the Mediterranean Sea! It was unbelievable! Is this real life?!
Tell us about your week! My first week in Rome was crazy! I arrived last Monday night and on Tuesday my host mom showed me where the kids go to school before dropping me off on the corner and going to work. It was shocking and very intense! However, it was also the best part of my week because I transitioned into the wanderlust mindset and didn’t care if I was lost or not. I felt free to wander and explore without having an itinerary and strict time schedule.
I first, literally, ran into the Spanish Steps. It took me a while to realize that I was there! The same thing happened later in the week when I stumbled upon the Trevi Fountain! I was wandering and before I knew it I turned and corner and BAM it was there! Everyday last week was an adventure. From stumbling across different monuments, to walking into an old church, it was incredible!
Over the weekend my family and I went to the seaside on the coast of Tuscany and it was unreal! I couldn’t believe it! It was so beautiful! And swimming in the Mediterranean Sea was the cherry on top! I enjoyed spending time with my host family and getting to know them more this first week!
