What were you grateful for this week? This week I was grateful for all of my wonderful friends I have made through this program! What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The most difficult part of this week was getting used to how the train systems work here, they are can be consistently late, which stresses me out!Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week I had an opportunity to spend more time with the family’s nanny, although she doesn’t speak English and I don’t speak Italian. We use google translate and I love that we are getting closer!Tell us about your week! This week I really enjoyed that I had so many opportunities to get to know the other au pairs in the same city as me! It is so nice to have friends so close and who are so willing to help me out! They also took me to this really cool place called Arona (a small lake in Northern Italy) and it was so beautiful. Italy is so amazing and has so much history and beauty in the most unexpected places. I also had the opportunity to visit Venice this weekend and it was so cool! Venice is the best place to get lost and no matter where you wander you see so much history and beauty! Additionally I had the opportunity to visit Murano and Burano Islands, they were amazing. Murano is the island where they do glass blowing and I got to see them make a small glass horse and a beautiful glass bowl. After we left Murano the boat headed to Burano which is the island where they make lace and have all the beautiful colorful houses. Talk about a fantastic place to have a Insta photo shoot! I also met the sweetest Australian lady and we had so much fun together exploring on our tour! The best thing about Italy is all the history that you are completely immersed in!
Why I Recommend a Program vs. Doing it Alone
