What were you grateful for this week?Kind strangers! Between lost in Venice and missing my trains in Florence, I met some kind strangers who would help me navigate my way back home.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The youngest that I watch was definitely on something this week that made it hard to watch him. With constantly wanting his mom, I felt like I was no help and that made the week difficult.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.Slowly but surely, throughout the weeks, I have been able to teach the youngest boy some English words. However, this week I was able to help my host mom move some things in her house as they are doing some renovations.
Tell us about your week! This week was a short week! My host mom was so kind in letting me work three days this week since I came back from one trip on Monday and left for the other on Friday. Even though it was short, it was tough. The youngest kid I watch was having a terrible two’s moment and nothing that I would do with him was enough and he just wanted to be with his mom. Which was understandable because I think he is still getting used to the idea of me being in their home. Just as I am still getting used to the idea.
Finally at around the last day, he was being nicer towards me and wanting to be with me more which definitely helped because there was a moment where I thought to myself “there is no way I can do this.”
After a short week, I meet E in Venice!! Which was such a dreamy, magical place. We were told to purposely get lost in Venice because you stumble upon the cutest places. Well we did just that! Except we got lost a lot! After awhile, it wasn’t all that fun. But it was still just so beautiful, we even rode a gondola! On day 2, we went to the small island of Burano which is known for the lace work and their beautiful, colorful houses.
Then on Sunday, by myself, I went to Florence. Sort of a last minute trip but it was so beautiful. I got to see The David which is something that not everyone gets to say.
