What were you grateful for this week?This week I was grateful that my host mom was more kind than usual to me.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?The most difficult part of this week were the extra hours I worked to make up for other weeks where I didn’t work as much.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. On Friday night I stayed in and watched my Italian brother until past midnight and stayed with him so that my host mom could go out and have fun with her friends. 

Tell us about your week! This week wasn’t anything crazy out of the ordinary. My American friend went with me to a North Face store because I needed to get a good backpack to live out of for 3 weeks when I go traveling after I am done in Italy. I was successful in finding a good backpack and I was really glad to be able to spend some time with my American friend. 

On Wednesday I went with my host mom to pick up my Italian brother from school and take him to his swimming lesson. This was my first time going to his swimming pool in the 4+ months I have been living with them so it was an interesting experience. I only went with my host mom this time because I am making up some hours of work that I will not have to work on the last week of me being here. On Wednesday I also went with my host mom and my Italian brother to a little cafe that they go to all the time because they know the owner. It was kind of nice to go out somewhere with my host family like that because it is not something that we do often. Besides, they bought me a fruit smoothie. 

On Friday night I worked extra long and ended up making dinner for my Italian brother and I because my host mom went to an aperitivo with her friends. My host mom was really grateful that I watched [my host brother] for longer than usual so that she could go have fun.
