What were you grateful for this week? This opportunity that I have to live here and experience things I never would have been able to otherwise!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Finding and deciding food to eat.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This weekend I was home on Sunday to relax and spend time with the family even though it was my day off. My host parents ended up having a last minute funeral they had to attend so I stayed home and watched the kids!

Tell us about your week! This week was a good week. Thursday k, m, and I went to arona for a day trip. It’s close by where we can go for the afternoon and lay out by the water and swim. That night we went over to K’s host family’s house and we made dinner together (ratatouille) and watched a movie (…ratatouille). Me and M rode our bikes home together and I ended up crashing, which gave us a big laugh and got me some good bruises. The 3 of us decided this weekend we would take it easy and have a more relaxing weekend at home. We decided to spend half of Saturday in Milan and go see a soccer game that night. We were so stoked to see a big Italian soccer game, and our seats were in the crazy fan section. We got some amazing food truck sandwiches outside the stadium and then went to find our seats. The game was so much fun and we sat in the right spot. All the fans around us were cheering and waving huge flags. Even though we didn’t know the cheers or what they were even saying we had fun and tried to cheer along. The environment was just so crazy and fun. It was also so different then what we normally do on the weekend and this made me feel like I was really living in Italy, doing what Italians do! Sunday I got to go to my church that was close by. It was nice to be able to go since I haven’t been since coming to Italy. There was even a girl from Indiana there who spoke Italian and helped translate things to me! I had lunch with my family and played with the kids for awhile. I watched them when the parents went to the funeral and had dinner with them. During the week things are busy so we never sit down to dinner all together so it was so nice! It was a good relaxing weekend at home but I’m also ready to get back to traveling to some sick places next weekend!
