What were you grateful for this week?

FaceTime.

What was the most difficult or challenge part of this week?

Adjusting! I’ve only been here for a few days, but I have definitely been homesick! But I know that once I get into a routine, I will be just fine!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.

I haven’t had a “wow” moment quite yet because I’ve only been here for a few days, but I’m excited to see what the next month and a half has in store!

Tell us about your week!

I arrived Thursday late at night so I didn’t really get to see the town until Friday. Friday was a relaxed day still trying to beat jet lag! But the oldest son, who is 14, showed me around town on their bikes. He took be on the backroads along with taking to me different parks around the village.

Then on Saturday I took a train to visit the nearest city of Livorno which is a port city. Then I took another train to visit Pisa! Pisa was so cute and quaint. Not much to see there other then the main tourist attraction of the tower. However, these last few days that I have been here have felt very long and I have felt a bit out of place. Which is to be expected! So I’m excited to see how I adjust because I know the time will just fly by.

Anyway, the village I’m staying at is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. It’s just how you’d think it’d be. Colorful and filled with the noise of its residents yelling out of windows and all of that kind of stuff. I actually didn’t even know I was going to be in this town. I thought I was going to be in Livorno not the outskirts. But I’m glad that I am, I feel like this is the way to live in Italy. The region of Tuscany is just beautiful! Reminds me of home, Wisconsin. Full of hills and greenery! I’m excited to see what the next 6 weeks brings!
