What were you grateful for this week? The delicious food! yum 🙂

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Adjusting to the different time zone. (I’m still not used to it yet) I am tired all the time!!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. For mother’s day, me and [my host family’s daughter] made a card for [my host mom]!

Tell us about your week! This has been my first week in Italy! For the past couple days I’ve been exploring the town I live in as well as the 2 surrounding cities (Alba and Asti). It is so very beautiful.

I feel like I am living in a fairy tale. The roads are all made of rocks and bricks. There are tons of big, beautiful churches and cathedrals surrounding me. The food is absolutely amazing. Not only is it different in the types of food they eat, but also in the amount and way they eat it. My host family sits down for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With each meal comes so so much food. My mom does not have to worry amount me starving! She only has to worry about me getting chubby.

My host family is amazing. They are very family-oriented. Almost everyday since I have been here we have seen either an uncle, aunt, grandma, or grandpa. They have a very small family, but they are all very close to one another. My host family has been very welcoming. They do their very best to make me feel comfortable and as if I am part of the family. In fact they call me their daughter! They have been very kind and excited to show me around there town and help me get familiar with it. This has been an amazing week! I can’t wait to get into a routine and start making trips on the weekend. Let the ITALY adventure begin. XOXO
