What were you grateful for this week? Mountains!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Trains and transportation????

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Helped with the kids’ little cousins.

Tell us about your week! This weekends planning was quite spontaneous to say the least. We had problems finding trains to cross the border and ended up booking an Airbnb in a town we had no idea about. long story short…after missing a train and failing to find the airbnb for a few hours we figured it out and found ourselves climbing a hill to a sacred old church in domodossola.

To say it was perfect would be an understatement. Rain sprinkled as we walked through a hidden village with cows that had bells around their necks and old stone houses.

The next morning we made our way to Brig, Switzerland. It was a short 30 minute train ride through mountains and picturesque waterfalls flowing off giant cliffs. Now, I’ve grown up around mountains my whole life but you HAVE NOT seen mountains until you see Switzerland.

We navigated the bus system and found ourselves in a tiny village called Mund. Everything you picture a Swiss village in the mountains to be is correct. Sheep, goats, and cows wonder around in the greenest fields and people sit out on beautiful wooden porches enjoying the simple beauty of nature. We ended our mountain journey at a local restaurant. We ate local meats and cheeses while looking out on a postcard worthy view. I’ll NEVER forget this day! I love cities and Italy but this was a much needed mountain trip!
