What were you grateful for this week? This week I was grateful that the timing worked out perfectly for me to come stay here in Rome with N!
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The most difficult part of this week was just the long train ride!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. On Friday night before I came to Rome I watched the kids until 2 in the morning so my host parents could go out!
Tell us about your week! This week was amazing! The weather has been so nice, the kids were happy, and I got to see so much! Wednesday was a holiday so everybody was off of work and out of school which meant we got to go to the mountains to the family’s summer home.
Their summer home is in a tiny stone village in the most beautiful mountains! We walked around and played in the fields and I absolutely loved it. On the way there we even went through the city where the author of Pinocchio was born! It was sooo cool and there were statues of Pinocchio everywhere!
Then on Saturday I left to come to Rome to stay with N. The architecture and the liveliness in everything here is amazing. I’ve seen the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, the Spanish steps, a gelato festival, and so much more! I love just walking around town at night and seeing all of the street performers and people just enjoying life.
Tomorrow we’re hoping to see the Vatican before I head back to Lucca. I can’t believe I only have four days left until I head home. This has been the best experience and an opportunity I am so grateful I took. I’ve learned and grown so much while I’ve been here and it’s something I will never forget.
