What were you grateful for this week? Grateful that I was able to travel more

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Getting out of my comfort zone.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I was able to bond more with my host family.

Tell us about your week! This week was really good as usual, I did my weekly routine with the kids and took them to their activities. I already love them both so much and we get along great. I love spending time with my host family; most nights I eat dinner with them and it’s really nice because it’s a bonding time for all of us.

This Friday my host Mom let me have the day off so that I could travel to Catania. I left Friday morning and was there the whole weekend. I went with B, who is also doing the Rome Abroad program. We stayed with some people who live in Catania on the army base so it was nice to not have to pay for a hotel, or Airbnb. When we arrived on Friday we just got settled and didn’t go out; the family had a pool and it was a really nice day so B and I got to go swimming.

On Saturday,we went to a place called Taromina. It was gorgeous. Another one of my favorite places I’ve seen. This little tourist town is located high up on some hilltops, and it overlooks the sea. It was so gorgeous. Saturday we walked all around Taormina the whole day. B and I walked about 2 miles downhill and made it all the way to the sea; it was a long walk but it was worth it.

We ate great food and saw gorgeous sights. On Sunday we just hung out around the house again and swam in the pool; it was an amazing and relaxing weekend and I’m so glad I was able to go!
