This week it was mostly sunny! I’ve been practicing handling the boys by myself so I can help out a little bit extra when the housekeeper goes on her Easter vacation. The boys are picking up a little bit more English everyday!
I visited Circo Massimo, which is a big open field surrounded by ruins and the city, walked around and found Teatro di Marcello, and ended up right by Piazza Venezia. I forget how close everything here is, you walk to one thing and the next thing is just a little walk away.
This week, I spent time out about in the neighborhood going running and enjoying the sunshine, I did a home workout, and went to a flexibility class on Saturday morning. My happy endorphins were swimming and what a lovely way to take in all the sights and sounds of Rome!
Nonno made spaghetti for the boys and me with clams one night, and Nonna brought a special mozzarella from the milk of a special cow. It was slightly sweeter than the average fresh mozzarella but I was a fan!
I visited Pisa this weekend and got in late Saturday night from the train. I went straight over to see the Leaning Tower, and I was honestly stunned. At night, the air was cool and crisp, the sky was dotted with some stars and clouds, and I was mostly alone without the hustle and bustle of tourists. What a beautiful way to experience a beautiful thing!
It rained a lot on Sunday, so it was a day consisted of lots of coffee. I bought a new hangbag, make up from Milan, and some jewelry, drank Tuscan wine, tasted a Pisan pizza, and had the prosciutto and melon appetizer I’ve been wanted to try. All was delicious!
