Pastries & T’s Life in Italy

What were you grateful for this week?I was grateful for the new friends that I have made in Italy.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The most difficult part about the week was it being too cold and snowy to be able to go running in the park by my house everyday.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week I went over to the home of one of my Italian brother’s school friends. While I was there I helped them with their English homework and watched them for a while so that their parents could have a rest. Watching 5 year olds play is tiring in itself.

Tell us about your week! Today I had a pretty good week. I was very productive with my online classes and am starting to get all of that figured out. This week my Italian friend and I found time to go together to get me a metro pass. It was quite the journey and piece of work to get the metro pass but in the long run it will save me money here in Milan. I was very grateful to my Italian friend for helping me with that.

I have also started sort of doing English lessons with my Italian friend and they bought an English workbook to practice with.

This week I spent a lot of time indoors due to the below freezing temperatures that Milan has been experiencing. I think I also must have brought snow with me from Utah because it snowed here in Milan nonstop for 3 days after having not snowed here for about 5 years according to my host family.

This weekend I went out with my American friend and we had a very long much needed conversation about our lives in Italy. It is always very refreshing to hear English from a native English speaker that speaks with the same accent as you. The best part of this week was the face that my American friend’s host mom packed me a box of small pastries.
