What were you grateful for this week?Umbrellas.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?My language class.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I made dinner this week. I picked a recipe and when I got to the store realizes that most of the thing weren’t sold there. So I improvised and it was still a hit!

Tell us about your week! My host mom is really cool basically and she is president of a community club. She took me to a banquet dinner party hosted by her club.

Basically the town called Asti, nearby where we live, every year has a mediaeval carnival celebrating the dance of the dead. Which is a ceromonial dance that made it possible for you to contuine to the next phase of life, death, after your alive life on earth is finished. Which is somewhat similar to the Spanish day of the dead. It [celebrates] past history and there are several groups that will put together costumes and participate in a parade.

Her club Awards a special Honor for the group with the best costumes and this dinner was to celebrate that. I got to talk to a lot of new people and I’m enjoyed some really great food. It was nice to see some of the history come alive in a modern day setting. I got to sit next to a really cool guy who translated the whole program for me amd he even invited us to the party his club is hosting.

On the other side of him sat the governor and his wife. They both spoke english and were very friendly too. I enjoyed seeing the pictures of their dogs! Super grateful for small town experiences like this!
