What were you grateful for this week? Friendly people at the grocery store.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Trying to keep my socks dry. It’s been a little snowy and I can’t seem to warm up. Wish I’d brought boots!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. We’ve started a compromise system. S gets to watch one cartoon only after she reads one book in English with me. She doesn’t always like it but mama F does!
Tell us about your week! This last week I got to spend some more time in Torino touring some of its museums. I got to spend one morning at the Egyptian museum. This one in Torino is the second most important/ largest Egyptian museum in the world, second after the one in Egypt. There were so many cool exhibits to see and yes I did look like a nerd walking around with the translator headphones on. I do think one of my next big trips will have to be to Egypt to see all of the sites for myself.
Then after that I headed over to the Reale Palace and the Piazza Castello to get a tour of the building and it was incredible to say the least. There’s so much history behind everything and I felt a little frustrating knowing that there is no way I could understand all of it and appreciate it for what it was. All of the art on the walls and details in the architecture was breathtaking.
I cannot imagine getting to spend all of my time in a place like that let alone have it be my home. And I think the best part was because I went during the middle of the week there is almost no one at any of the museum so I got to just relax and take my time looking at everything. Can’t wait to go back and see the rest of the city!
