What were you grateful for this week? The amazing European tour I had!!
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Really one of the best weeks I have had. Being exposed to 5 languages in one week was pretty interesting!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I was not home this week…but when I picked up the boys today we played a lot and it was one of the happiest days they’ve had!
Tell us about your week! This week was unreal. The family was out of town/the kids had a week off of school so I planned a ten day trip. I went with another au pair from the US. We started by taking a bus to Nice, France. Nice was absolutely gorgeous!!! I could not even believe that it was February for how blue the water looked. We ate crepes, saw the coast, went to a few museums, and met a lot of international people!
The hostel we stayed at was so cute and in the absolute perfect location. There were two Argentines staying in our room who were really cool. We asked where they were going next and they said Barcelona, which is where we were headed. Turns out we ended up in the same exact hostel in Barcelona as well! So now I feel like they are truly my friends!
Barcelona was very different from Nice. It was by the coast, but a totally different vibe. The food was colorful and finally a little spicey and centered around meat! Our hostel was a huge party hostel and it was the best place we could have stayed.
We saw a ton of Barcelona sights, other museums, and went to the beach one day! It felt nice to relax in the sand. Except for the fact it is Europe so we definitely saw a lot of naked people haha.
Then I flew back to Milan and literally re-checked in at the airport to fly to Istanbul with another au pair! Istanbul was an amazing city. All of the buildings were piled on top of each other and there was so much history there it was crazy!
Again, our hotel was in the perfect location; walking distance to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and the bridge to the other side of Istanbul. I can’t even compare these three cities because they were all so different from each other. But it was honestly the coolest week.
