What were you grateful for this week? The final moments of one of the best times of my life.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Leaving a city and a family that I have grown very close to.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I finally put together the photo album that was the gift to the family. It turned out wonderfully.
Tell us about your week!I spent my last week trying to find as many things to do as possible. I found that it was more enjoyable to slowly progress and do things one week at a time. Trying to do something every morning and rushing around makes it hard to sit and enjoy the little things that are all around you.
I saw Monti at night, I went to my favorite cafes and restaurants, I went on walks and runs to my favorite sights. I did so much but the thing that I enjoyed most was putting together the scrap book. It was a wonderful final thing to do that was a great way to say thank you to the family that gave me so much in Rome — a way to make something that we can look back on and laugh and learn from. I hope that I didn’t preach too much to the boys about how being brothers is something they will always have and to always be good to each other but I just can’t help it. I got to be a big brother again and I know I needed to hear that when I was that age.
I got the chance to reflect a lot and really just be grateful for this wonderful opportunity to live in Rome for 3 months. It has been an absolutely wonderful, magical, eternal experience and I am so thankful to the family and Rome Abroad for the experience. Til next time Rome, I threw plenty of coins into the Trevi fountain so I will be back!
