What were you grateful for this week?having a relaxing weekend!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?the most challenging part was figuring out the metro system in milan!!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I got my family some treats as a little present!

Tell us about your week!This week was pretty normal, just hung out with the family, played with [my host family’s daughter], spent my free time with H! 

We have been going to the cutest cafe in the town center and have become regulars there. The workers all know us and love to chat with us about our travels and are so sweet and kind to us! We had a really relaxing weekend which was just what we needed! 

My family had gone out of town so we had the house to ourselves and slept in, and ordered pizza, which was hilarious. We had held google translate up to the phone to order!

We took little day trips to Milan, It’s nice to have Milan so close and easy to get to, there is so much to do and see there, even by taking a bunch of day trips throughout our time here I don’t feel like we will be able to cover it all!

Milan is BEAUTIFUL. the duomo is breathtaking, the square there in front of the Duomo is COVERED in birds and honestly was so overwhelming. H and I were dying laughing at all the birds that almost flew into us. 

The shopping in Milan is of course amazing. Some of the biggest stores i’ve ever seen and everything is so fancy! We had delicious sandwiches at this little cafe and walked about a half hour out of our way to get gelato at a place a friend had recommended, only to find it was closed! We were so sad but of course found gelato else where, since it is basically on every corner! It was a great weekend!
