What were you grateful for this week?PIZZA! I’m a regular at this delicious pizza place right down my street, and their “funghi” (mushroom) pizza is amazing!!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Trying to catch the 115 bus :/

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. [My host mom] went out of town on a business trip to Milano, so I helped her a lot more than usual with the kids, dinner, and bedtime.

Tell us about your week! This week was relatively uneventful, but it was one of my favorite weeks to date. I know I say that every week, but it’s true every time!

I finally made it home to Rome Monday morning, and let me tell you!! It was the BEST feeling ever. I’d been traveling for almost two weeks straight with just a small backpack of my essentials, so it was exciting being able to do laundry and wear different clothes again.

While I had the time of my life seeing so many other countries, I missed Italy so, so much! I even woke up one night, in Switzerland, after dreaming about carbonara and gelato, and then that’s all I could think about the rest of the night. Not joking. I didn’t expect to be experiencing withdrawals already, haha 🙂

This week I spent more time with my host family, which was fun because I missed them! Also, after being away from all my Italian food for two weeks, I had a lot of catching up to do so ate until the sun went down, and then ate some more. Bombes, gelato, pizza, tonarelli polpette (spaghetti + meatballs. But WAY BETTER), carbonara with sheeps milk and pork cheese, you name it, I ate it. It was a blast and half and sent my taste buds into overdrive.

I’ve started picking up more of the Italian language too, which is so fun! I carry around my google translate so if I hear something I don’t understand I plug into google translate real fast. I still can’t speak it to save my life though 🙂

I also sent out a big stack of postcards this week so the people I love will be getting them soon! I can’t believe I only have a couple weeks left! The time went wayyyyy too fast :'(
