What were you grateful for this week?Chocolate, K, music, sunsets, fondue, and the Swiss Alps.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Missing my ferry boat and getting trapped in France for a night.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.[My host family’s son] fell down and hit his head at basketball so I took him home early, put ice on it, and we watched a movie 🙂
Tell us about your week! I went to Switzerland this week! It was amazing! My host family left for London this week, so I flew in to Geneva on Thursday morning and stayed with my friend Lily. She lives in the most gorgeous little town called Dully. The fields and vineyards are literally golden this time of year, and they even had a little greenhouse with fresh vegetables and herbs. One of the coolest things I saw in Geneva was the farm vending machines. They have these vending machines that give you fresh eggs, apples, cheese, milk, etc. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! I was SO inspired and it made me want to start a farm vending machine when I get home.
We went to Zermatt on Thursday and Friday, and stayed in the most perfect little B&B. It was the best! Since Zermatt is a car free town, we had to take a train up to it, and we walked everywhere! It kind of felt like Disneyland 🙂
The views of the Matterhorn from our porch were amazing, and it quite literally took our breath away. The next morning we had a delicious Swiss breakfast and walked through the town to take pictures and get closer to the Matterhorn. We tried fondue and warm apple tarts, and lots of Toblerone chocolate 🙂 Zermatt was completely magical!
The next day we went across the lake to Yvoire, France, and I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Literally every wall had ivy and vines growing up it, and the sunset was out of this world. Super grateful for such a beautiful earth!
