What was your favorite part of this week?Visiting the islands off the coast of Sicily

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Knowing how and when to help my family.

Tell us about your week!This week my family traveled to their home on the island of Lipari. It is a beautiful island but it is difficult to reach. First we took a plane to Catania, then a 2 hour car ride to Milazzo, and then an hour ferry ride to the island. The kids did such an amazing job while traveling and while it took awhile it was not an unpleasant experience. My Italian family’s house is gorgeous and I felt lucky to be there! It had an amazing view of the ocean fermi, their pool. 

We spent most days on a boat, traveling to one of the 6 surrounding islands. I had the opportunity to see all the islands (from a distance) and actually visit 4 of them. The water is absolutely beautiful. 

On the island of Volcano the beaches are black. They also had a Vespa I was allowed to ride around the island which made it really easy to go into town and grab some ice cream. One day S and I just drove around the whole island. The islands are prone to jellyfish so we had to be careful while swimming but they were fun to see swimming in the ocean and the water was so clear they were not too difficult to avoid. I feel incredibly lucky that I had the privilege to visit these islands! Next week we travel to a mountain region of Gressoney! I am excited for my next adventure!
